Topic: Hosting service facing bankruptcy (Read 17483 times)

The service provider of this page has informed me that they are very likely facing bankruptcy. The issue has arisen because of a dispute between the owners. I have been looking into alternatives since we had the first bouts with downtime but the future as of now is unclear. I have been given one month to resolve the issue but with these kinds of disputes quick action is always important in order to not lose data.
Unfortunately it also looks as if I will lose nine months of prepaid bandwidth.
If someone has experience with a fast host please let me know at asp_at_bluemail.org as the alternative I have set up right now is not good enough for our volume.
Ah well, such is life. I'll get back when I know what the result will be. I will try to make daily backups of all databases to avoid serious data loss.

Wish I could help, but I don't know about server stuff. Good luck and do what's right for you first then the rest of us oldblivon's. We'll understand i'm sure, and will still thank you for all your hard work to let us have so much fun playing Oblivion..

I've completed the move over to another host. So far everything seems good here. Let me know if you find anything broken, if the site is slow or something else is bothering you.

Well the DNS hasn't transferred completely yet for everyone so some people are still on the old site. I get an almost 7 second loading latency but will wait until everything is transferred correctly before investigating. Does anyone else here experience the same?

I am getting closer to a 10 second wait for this message box to come up, for example. Same with going page to page.

I hope your having a great summer.
I'm getting about an eight second delay on first load and around five seconds navigating around.
My latitude is about 40 N and my time zone is CST or GMT-6.
Back when I had a 36k modem that would have been great but now I'm sooo spoiled... };-D
I'm just glad the sight is here.
Ok while Ive been writing this the speed has gotten better like <2 seconds. Go Figure?

it is now going very slow and takes ages to load a page. sometimes i have to click the same icon like 5 times to make it load and this normals dont work since i have got broadband

It seems to be very hit or miss for me at the moment.Sometimes it can take up to 10 seconds to load a new page and at other times its almost instant.
