Hey fellas I have stupid, damn laptop Advent 7113. (I knows that its rare Grin) its configs: processor 1.7 ghz, ram 1 gb, video gma 950 221mb, OS- damn Vista. Also i have a pc about 6 years old D: and its configs: processor: 2 ghz, ram 256, video 5200 fx 128 mb, OS- XP. And i want to give some testing results: laptop- I play with oldfallout files (ini, saves, cmds) and use some of my one like ts-toggle sky, tdb- toggle depht bias, and tlb- toggle light brith. I get about 15-30 fps outdoors and 25-40 indoors. Oh and I play in 640x480 res, and tried 320x240 i get then 30fps+ but i do not reccommend it if you wanna save your eyes. 1 problem (except no heads) is V.A.T.S. when I press it my game just freezes and then I get a "program not responding" window. Any ideas what causes it? Furthermore I use alpha modded drivers and gma booster. Now my old pc- i also use oldfallout files. But i get about 5-15 fps outdoors and 15-20 fps indoors. 2 problems (also exept no heads=) nonstopping crashing after about 20 mins of lag, or using second time V.A.T.S. (yes it works on this devils pc and on my beloved laptop doesnt }= )   I dont know if these results will help someone but I really am waiting the NOHEADS issue fix.  Grin

We tried a few tweaks in the INI to attempt to get VATS working for 950 users but to no avail. A friend of mine has been threatening to get rid of his old laptop and it has a 950 in it. This would really help since I have no way of testing things to see if they fix anything.

If I had a 950 I could also try to get the sky working. That looks bleak! Even so I have been trying to figure out what could cause a problem but there are very few sky tweaks and mods.

As for the NOHeads problem I came up with a crude "fix" that involves giving everyone a human head shaped helmet. Though the effect is less then perfect (won't except the texture correctly on NPCs and some other texture problems) I did the best I could then abandoned it because it was consuming too much time.

I think it's better then no heads at all.

Has anyone found a solution to the crash you experience every time you hit the wasteland on intel's GMA 950 ? You know, the game works fine indoors and I'm achieving pretty good frames (13 - 45) on my indoor saves but every time i wan't to go outside the game crashes...

Unfortunately you have to toggle of the entire sky.

Open the console "~"

and type "TS"

then enter.

Sorry no fix for this that I can find yet.

Well i tired the 'TS' command but it's still the same... game crashes when i try to enter wasteland...

EDIT :

It's working fine now... i had to disable water shaders... and the frame outdoors is surprisingly good... i'm getting around 8 - 14 fps without tlb and 13 - 18 with it... finally i can play fallout decently... thanks guys

I downloaded that thanks! But I'm having a different problem here. I've put in a lot of the fixes on the forum with .ini's and that helps me because without them the game just crashes to desktop. The problem is the game always freezes up on me after a couple minutes. When I load up the game it looks great even though theres no heads and its on lowest settings. Theres no graphical issues (aside from the water looks weird and so do some doors) But everything else looks great. I even have a great frame rate, im not sure what it is exactly but it plays smoothly. The thing is though ill be walking around outside and everything seems to be going great but after 2 or 3 minutes the game will just freeze up. It always does this no matter where I am. If I'm listening to the radio it will keep playing for a little bit after the games frozen up. Also It seems if I go into any buildings it freezes even faster I just dont get it.

Specs:
HP Pavillion DV4 notebook
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
Intel Core i3 2.16 GHz processor
4 GB of memory
Intel GMA HD

(I know the GMA is the main problem but this seems a little different from everything else i've read)

After doing a little searching around it looks like it could be any number of things.

Is your Fallout 3 updated to newest patch?

Are your video drivers up to date?

Are your sound drivers up to date?

You could try resetting your Codecs

CODEC Reset Utility v3.0
http://nightmare2013.brashendeavors.net/

Try turning your Page File to 0MB meaning no virtual hard drive memory.

Try turning audio hardware acceleration down or even off.

Check back

* Fallout.ini (19.72 KB - downloaded 16 times.)
* FalloutPrefs.ini (2.24 KB - downloaded 19 times.)

I highly doubt that this freezing has anything to do with your Fallout 3 INI.

Try the K-Lite Codec Pack for Windows 64bit
http://www.codecguide.com/klcp_64bit.htm

Did you try turning down sound acceleration or turning off the Page File?

Alright I did the codec pack and turned off the page file. I follow the steps to turn down the sound acceleration but apparently my display drive wont let me change the settings? Anyway did the two new changes and still the same problem. I'm not sure if this is important or not but whenever I get into task manager while its frozen its running between 300k and 400k

I suspect Dalek intervention.

Haha I dont think its any of those, hopefully. But fallout sure could use a doctor! But I really wish i could get it to work. Its like torture to be able to play it almost perfectly for a minute or two at a time.

I managed to play for about 5 minutes today. I entered megaton and it froze up on me but i launched the game again and loaded the auto save and managed to go the saloon and get the quest there with no problems. Then Managed to go to crater supply with no problems and sell some stuff i had on  me. Then left megaton and only made it about 20 feet outside megaton before it froze again. Then relaunched and only lasted about 30 seconds or so when i did that. Also I'm unable to open the console.
